I have loved weaving since I was 10 years old. Watching my mother, a hand weaver and lace designer who graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, weave on her beautiful wooden loom, fascinated and inspired me.  That started my weaving journey and obsession. Over the last 30 years I have constantly tried to improve my craft though formal education and practice. I received my BFA from Parsons School of Design and my MFA from Tyler School of Fine Arts.

In 2016, I started Anne Greene Designs, in memory of my Mom, as a way to showcase my custom made 100% silk or wool scarves and tallits (garments used in religious practice).

All designs are created in my studio in Philadelphia PA.  Each design is created personally for my clients. I consult with clients to create a design and color scheme to suit their style and needs.

Product Information:

All products are handmade so inventory changes. Everything is made in my studio in Philadelphia PA. Scarves can be  Made to order or purchased through the website. Tallits are custom made to order. (The tallit katan (Yiddish/Ashkenazic Hebrew tallis koton; "small tall it") is a fringed garment traditionally worn either under or over one's clothing by Jewish males and females. It is a Shawl-like garment with special twined and knotted fringes known as tzitzit attached to its four corners). Made to order items will take up two or more weeks to produce. 

Challah cover is a special cloth used to cover the two braided loaves (challah) set out on the table at the beginning of a Shabbat or Yom Tov meal. While its appearance lends a decorative and ceremonial aspect to the set table, its presence serves both a halakhic and symbolic function.
